Over the last 60 years, Mask-Off has become synonymous with quality pressure sensitive paper and film tapes. We have carefully engineered our products for specific applications. Many of our products will perform very well on multiple surfaces, but there is not a single product on the market that will perform ideally on all of those critical surfaces you are required to protect from damage that will cause rejection, repair or replacement.
Does that one product not adhere properly to all the surfaces you are applying it to?
Different adhesives react differently to different surfaces. Our adhesives are primarily natural and acrylic latex based and coated on paper and various poly films in variety of thickness and all with a very specific level of adhesion. For example, an acrylic latex adhesive might adhere perfectly to a piece of glass, but not to a painted surface.
Minimum order requirements preventing you from purchasing the correct product?
When you purchase any masking tape of any kind, you are required to purchase a minimum order quantity. Many times that would be enough tape to last you well beyond the shelf life. We understand as a small MRO, Service Center or Corporate Operator you can’t be wasting money and product like that. THAT IS WHY MASK-OFF OFFERS THIS SOLUTION:
3 PROTEX PRODUCTS IN 1 KIT
Protex 8216-2L- 16X100 yards
This 2 mil polyester has a light tack acrylic adhesive with a UV protective tint that is ideal for application to surfaces such as:
- Aircraft windows/windshields
- Aluminum
- Avionics displays
Protex 50-16X100 yards
This 5 mil printed paper has a natural latex adhesive ideal for application to the following surfaces:
- Leading edges
- Fuselage/Painted surfaces
Can be used for (but not ideal):
- Wing-walk protection (low level)
- Interior high gloss wood (short term, low level)*
* Application of any adhesive coated product to a high gloss wood finish should only be done after the top coat has had a minimum of 2 weeks to cure and outgas.
Protex 20VS- 16X60 yards
This 20 mil paper has an acrylic adhesive with a mid-level tack adhesive that is ideal for application to the following surfaces:
- Interior high gloss wood*
- Wing Walk
* Application of any adhesive coated product to a high gloss wood finish should only be done after the top coat has had a minimum of 2 weeks to cure and outgas.
When extreme caution needs to be taken this product will provide that level needed on the following surfaces:
- Windows/windshields
- Leading edges
